A day after the primary election results and I’ve already gotten two pro-Walker flyers and two folks at my door (during the 4th quarter of the Bulls game no less (sadness)). I had not put up any posters or signs ’cause I live in Madison and figured only a moron would canvas here… unfortunately, I was right.
So this poster is now in my front window… hopefully this will fix two problems.

If you can’t spare the time to enjoy the entire 85 glorious minutes of the Prez at the GOP lunch, at least watch Jon Stewart’s short recap of the event. Awesomeness level is 9.3.

There was never going to be an actual debate about healthcare reform. Republicans in congress are never going to stand against the insurance industry, especially if the charge is being lead by President Obama. Though I find this unfortunately typical of the Party-First Party, but this also allows us to scrape them off and get some real work done.
So, if you support the healthcare reform including a public option, call your members of Congress and let them know! It’s easy and only takes a minute. Ask them if they support the proposed public option for healthcare reform. Tell them you’d like them to. That’s it. Done. Don’t let someone else’s voice speak for you. Call ‘em!
If you’re not sure how you feel about this issue, get informed. Howard Dean’s Netroots Nation town hall one of the best videos I’ve seen on the subject and is a fine place to start.

I just got back from voting. I have to say, Voting early is the stuff! I live in a town of only about 17k (extremely cool) folks. I went down to City Hall and there were four fabulously nice volunteers helping only 7 folks. They told be there had been over 300 people that day and there had been more and more folks every day since they started. I cast my vote in about 12 minutes.
So why the hell have we not done this before? Folks should be able to register and cast their vote at least a whole week before the actual election date. It gives us all time to get there and takes a LOT less time to get through the line. I did miss getting a “I voted” sticker… though they said they’d try and have those next time.
So if your state allows early voting, get on out and get it done! And feel free to print my “I Voted Today” button and pin it on yourself when you’re done… like I did.

The people in this video are just plain stupid and their behavior sickening. That McCain and Palin are fostering the notion that Obama is a terrorist is absolutely despicable. That they do not publicly condemn this is deplorable and they should be ashamed of themselves.
Thanks in a large part to the current republican administration, our Country’s economy is falling apart. And this is what McCain decides to concentrate on? Inciting a mob like this shows lack of character, horrible judgement and is just plain dangerous. For God’s sake man, show a little class…

I’ve been trying (and yet failing) to ignore the current political fracas that inevitably culminates into a 50+ kurik turd that is finally ceremoniously flushed on Tuesday, Nov 4th. Although both candidates are guilty of scat slinging, I feel McCain is sinking to new lows and as such, wins the scat muncher award for being the douchiest douche. Congratulations.
Whatever. The long and the short of it is, the republicans have had their day. 2920 days in fact (give or take about 27% of that in vacation time). If you think this country is doing fine, I suggest you get out more but feel free to stay home the first Tuesday of November.
I will say this… if the Demecrats, once in office, screw up as badly as Bush has, fine. I promise to vote for the next republican shepherd. No really, I will. But y’all have had your time and screwed the pooch in impressive ways. Please sit down, you’re turn is over.

I am totally voting for Hillary! Not only is she the best Republican candidate since Regan, but she’s also proven to be willing to fight the meaningful fights. I’ve enjoyed our current administrations grasp on reality and feel that Hillary shows the most promise for hitting that ground running. I enjoy the fact that she doesn’t spend most of her time discussing governmental issues, but rather discussing her issues with her opponents. I think this gives us a glimpse at the decision-making, character and class she has shown in the past, and what we could expect more of in the future.
Hillary ’08!
